Job Description

Cinemark Janitors clean the theatre and theatre property during non-operating hours. The standard at Cinemark is “clean as new”, and Janitors strive to always meet this standard. They are responsible for cleaning floors, carpets, walls, doors, seats, restrooms, sidewalks, parking lots, concession stands, etc. Janitors thoroughly disinfect auditoriums and restrooms prior to opening. This individual ensures that the next day’s Guests will walk into a sparkling clean theatre. Responsibilities include coordinating with the General Manager on areas to be cleaned, scheduling thorough cleaning of theatre and property, sweeping and mopping floors, maintaining carpets, cleaning various theatre areas including auditoriums, seats, game rooms, restrooms, and more. They ensure projection booths, office areas, storerooms, and screens are cleaned only as instructed by the General Manager. Janitors keep cleaning equipment clean and in good working order, organize the Janitor’s closet, inspect theatre and property for cleanliness and report issues, replenish restroom supplies, mix and apply approved cleaning chemicals, remove trash and dispose of it properly, guard against unauthorized personnel during shifts, keep theatre keys on person and lock outside doors during non-operating hours, properly use Personal Protective Equipment, adapt to cleaning task frequency and scope, monitor safety and security issues, and perform other assigned duties. Requirements include being at least 18 years old, availability for flexible hours including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays, regular attendance, energetic and friendly attitude, excellent guest service, good interpersonal and communication skills in English, ability to work independently and in a team, ability to follow directions, respond urgently, maneuver in limited spaces, safely mix and dispose of chemicals, and meet physical demands such as frequent bending, kneeling, lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, walking, and working in moderate to high noise levels.
