Safety Manager, Construction Industry

Permanent Position, growing organization looking for someone to join their team!

$110k - $140k

Ultimate Staffing Services is actively seeking an experienced Safety Manager to join a reputable construction company in East County. This position focuses on ensuring the highest safety standards are maintained across various construction sites, fostering a culture where safety is the primary concern.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the company's safety program, ensuring it aligns with industry standards and regulations.
  • Train and educate staff on safety programs and protocols, ensuring all employees are informed and compliant.
  • Keep the leadership team informed of any changes in laws, rules, or regulations related to safety or health.
  • Oversee new hire training related to safety rules and programs, integrating safety into the onboarding process.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and CAL-OSHA standards across all operations.
  • Enforce policies and educate employees about current rules and any changes to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Focus on building a strong team culture with safety as a key intent, promoting a proactive safety-first mindset.
  • Track any injuries, provide updates, and address needed adjustments to prevent future occurrences.
  • Preferred experience with HCSS software for safety management and tracking.
  • Must have construction safety management experience, with a preference for those with experience in undergrounding and paving.
  • Ability to commute to East County and visit sites throughout San Diego County as needed.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Safety Manager within the construction industry.
  • Bachelor degree and 5+ years of related Safety experience
  • Familiarity with OSHA and CAL-OSHA regulations and compliance standards.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to train and educate staff on safety practices.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively relay safety information and updates to both employees and leadership.
  • Experience with HCSS is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to travel to various sites within San Diego County as needed.

Required Work Hours

Monday to Friday, during standard first-shift hours.

Benefits

The role offers competitive pay, with a salary range from $110,000 to $135,000, based on experience and qualifications.
