The Payments Product team at Boku is expanding and we are looking for an experienced Full Stack Senior Software Engineer to join us. As part of the Payments Product team, you will be responsible for the end-to-end development of our payment products and features. You will be challenged with building scalable, reliable, and frictionless checkout experiences for millions of Boku’s customers around the world. This is a hybrid position within our San Francisco office.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work hands-on with a highly skilled team of Engineers and Product Managers to ideate, build, and improve Boku payment products and features.
  • Confidence working with front end-technologies and ability to advocate direction, while also being willing and able to build out the rest of the stack.
  • When required, independently lead other engineers to deliver a medium or large size project from inception to post production implementation.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and assistance to the team to effectively execute product roadmaps and build scalable, easy-to-use applications.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Design, and Operations teams.
  • Own the products that you build, become the domain expert, and be actively involved in strategic direction and product decisions.
  • Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing and release.
  • Share knowledge and drive best practices across the Engineering teams by giving presentations, writing articles, etc.
  • Participate in the Engineering on-call rotation.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS in Computer Science or related field with 5+ years of relevant engineering work experience.
  • Strong software design and architecture skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with cross-functional teams: Product Management, Quality Assurance, Design, Merchant Onboarding, etc.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to document and explain technical design, best practices, and integration guide to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Hands-on software development experience in one or more modern JavaScript frameworks (AngularJS, React, Vue, etc).
  • Knowledge of CSS and Javascript fundamentals and best practices.
  • Hands-on software development experience in a back-end programming environment such as Java or equivalent.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with service-oriented architecture and architecting APIs for scale.
  • Experience integrating with third party web services across a variety of technologies, e.g. REST, SOAP, SMPP.
  • Experience with some (or all) of the following technologies/frameworks/tools: Maven, Git, MySQL, JMS, Spring, JPA/Hibernate, Jersey, Jetty, Kubernetes.
  • Experience building and maintaining high-volume, customer-facing products in the cloud (AWS, GCP, etc).
  • Has worked or currently working in Payments industry.
